Once I become a CA, what kinds of jobs or paths can I pursue?

A qualified CA can either practise independently or take up a wide range of employment roles across industries. In practice, CAs run their own firms offering audit and assurance, taxation, GST and advisory services. In employment, common roles include statutory and internal audit, taxation, financial reporting and controllership (the CFO track), risk and compliance, and consulting, including at large audit and advisory firms. CAs also work in banking, financial services, valuation, forensic accounting and corporate finance. The qualification is recognised across India and, through ICAI international curriculum and recognitions, offers pathways abroad as well.
