Question
If I clear everything on the first attempt, roughly how many years from Class 12 to membership?
Answer
Around 4 to 4.5 years after Class 12 if you clear each level on your first attempt. The rough path is: register and sit Foundation after your Class 12 exams, then a minimum 8-month study period before the Intermediate exam, then begin 2 years of articleship after clearing both Intermediate groups, and finally sit the Final exam. Because articleship alone is now 2 years and the study periods are fixed minimums, 4.5 years is the realistic best case. Every additional attempt at any level pushes the timeline out, so most students take longer in practice.
