What is the passing criteria for CA exams, 40% in each paper and 50% aggregate?

Question

What marks do I actually need to pass a CA group?

Answer

You need a minimum of 40% in each paper and 50% in the aggregate of all papers in that group, at one sitting. This rule applies at Foundation, Intermediate and Final. If you score below 40 in even one paper, or below 50% overall, you have not cleared the group, even if your total looks high. At Intermediate and Final there is also an exemption: if you appear in all papers of a group and score 60% or more in any paper but fail the group, that paper is exempted for the next three attempts. Intermediate and Final groups can be attempted and passed separately or together.
