What is the CA course structure under ICAI new scheme (Foundation, Intermediate, Final)?

Question

I keep hearing about the new scheme launched in 2023. What are the levels and what is added?

Answer

The CA course has three levels (Foundation, Intermediate and Final) plus four Self-Paced Online Modules and two years of practical training. Under the New Scheme of Education and Training (launched 1 July 2023), you clear the 4-paper Foundation, then the 6-paper Intermediate (two groups), then complete 2 years of articleship. Before the Final you must qualify four Self-Paced Online Modules: SET A (Corporate and Economic Laws) and SET B (Strategic Cost and Performance Management) are compulsory, while SET C and SET D are chosen from elective lists. The Final has 6 papers across two groups. You also complete ICITSS and Advanced ICITSS (IT and soft-skills) training.
