Form MBP-1 — Disclosure of interest
Every director must disclose, in Form MBP-1, their interest or concern in any company, body corporate, firm or association of individuals — including where they are a director, member or partner and their shareholding. The notice is given to the company and kept with its records; it is not filed with the Registrar. A fresh MBP-1 is required at the first board meeting of each financial year and whenever the disclosed particulars change.
Form DIR-8 — Non-disqualification
In Form DIR-8 a director declares that they are not disqualified from being appointed or continuing as a director. This declaration now covers both Section 164(1) (personal disqualifications such as unsound mind, insolvency or conviction) and Section 164(2) (being a director of a defaulting company). It is given to the company before appointment and annually. If a director is found to be disqualified, the company files Form DIR-9 with the Registrar.
Form DIR-2 — Consent to act
Form DIR-2 records a proposed director’s written consent to act, along with their personal particulars and DIN. It is given to the company and attached to Form DIR-12, which must be filed with the Registrar within thirty days of the appointment.
