Which FSSAI licence tier applies to my food business?

Bottom line: FSSAI has three tiers by turnover — Basic up to ₹1.5 crore, State ₹1.5 to ₹50 crore, and Central above ₹50 crore.
1. Basic Registration
For turnover up to ₹1.5 crore (raised from ₹12 lakh with effect from 1 April 2026).
2. State Licence
For turnover between ₹1.5 crore and ₹50 crore.
3. Central Licence
For turnover above ₹50 crore, and for importers, exporters and certain multi-state operators.
